[Hall of Fame Member - 2003] Archie ... The Big Bopper ... One of the more feared hitters in the game ... Came back strong in 2008 after a dismal 2007 performance . . . Regained his 10+ homer stroke with 14 . . . Hit for a .294 AVG, due largely in part to his career high 44 singles . . . His best mark since his .293 in 2003 when he had 57 RBI ... Hit 19 HRs in 2002 ... Number 5 on all-time home run list with 131 ... Inducted into Hall of Fame in 2003 ... Known for booming laugh and dry sense of humor ... Team's scorekeeper ... Berardinelli, Pat - St. Francis Crusaders

[Hall of Fame Member - 2008] An old smoothie ... Dart glides into the board with amazing grace ... Plays darts with textbook style, taking time between darts, focusing on his base and exhibiting good sportsmanship ... Good for 40-50 doubles a year ... Had 41 RBI in 2002 ... A popular - and honest - local politician for many years ... Has a handshake and kind words for everyone he meets ... Called his recent induction into the Good Fellowship Dartball Hall of Fame one of his finest moments.


Casey, Phil - Gardnertown Church

[Two singles titles - 2001, 2005] Once and future Champ ... Set the modern era singles record of 154 back in 2005 with the Sargent Warriors ... Phil's success shouldn't have been unexpected as he was hitting well over .400 as far back as 2001 when he posted a .431 mark ... Record was broken by Gary MacEntee in 2008 ... Varying work schedules have interfered with his playing time, limiting him to just 281 at bats the last three seasons ... Big fella who has worked as a bouncer, batted .396 in limited play for Gardnertown last season ... Helps raise money to fight juvenile cancer through the Baby V Foundation.


Coleman, Butch - St. Francis Crusaders

[Hall of Fame Member - 2005; Seven triples titles - 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2008] Ho hum ... May be the least excitable quality player in dartball ... His reaction to anything is not to react at all ... Never gets to high when things are going well, or too low when they aren't ... Set league single season triple record with 48 back in 2002, and his temperment changed not a whit ... No. 1 on All-Time Triples list with 236 ... Shot 29 three-baggers in 2008, along with 33 doubles ... Despite his astonishing accomplishments he often flies under the radar ... A long-time Crusaders star.


Coleman, Dan - Little Britain Grange

[Hall of Fame Member - 1995; Three doubles titles - 2002, 2005, 2007] Dan the Tree Man ... No. 2 on the All-Time Doubles list added 129 more in 2008 ... Only Flames Captain Tom Flagler hit more ... Led the league in 2007 with 122 ... Team's top run producer, drove home 276 over the last three seasons ... Came back from arm surgery ... The quietest of the three Coleman Brothers ... Can shoot base on balls virtually at will ... Hit .478 in 2002 and .454 in 2000 ... Became the third of the Coleman brothers to be inducted into the HOF in 1995.



Coleman, Dick - Little Britain Grange

[Hall of Fame Member - 1985] Leadoff man ... The standard by which single shooters are judged ... Tremendous game knowledge and instincts have helped him Captain his Little Britain team to a record 15 World Series Titles ... Ranks number four all-time with 777 one-baggers ... Hit .410 in 2003 ... returned to top form with a .425 performance in 2008 ... Longtime League Secretary and the glue that has helped keep the league going... Longest tenured active Hall of Famer at 23 years and counting.



Coleman, Frank - Little Britain Grange

[Hall of Fame Member - 1986; Seven doubles titles - 1997, 1998, 2000, 2001, 2003, 2004, 2006] Master of his craft ... The most accomplished and prolific hitter in the game ... Has led the league in doubles 7 times and RBI 7 times over the last twelve years ... 1,457 doubles in that time span ... Is ranked No.1 on both those All-Time lists ... Has exceptional dart control that often leads to zero off the boards each year, but had a career high 14 last year ... The Iron Horse ... Had not missed a game in several decades until 2007 ... Had 124 RBI in 2000 ... A notoriously effective umpire and league personality.



Crosbie, Herb - Bethlehem Church

Prototypical Bethlehem player ... Quiet and unassuming, but what a dart ... One of the best hitters to come into the league in recent years ... Has hit .306 over the last three years with 133 RBI ... His 23 game-winning RBI since 2004 illustrate his talent shooting under pressure ... Is currently struggling through back injury.



Crosbie Jr., Herbie - Bethlehem Church

Once and future thrower ... Could become a franchise player for years to come ... Had outstanding 2007 season batting .299 while tying with his father for the club RBI lead at 38 ... Led club with 9 game-winning hits ... Finished among the league leaders in triples in 2008 with 14 ... A high school track star for Cornwall.


Cullingham, Russ - Bethlehem Shepherds

His slip is showing ... After a twenty year career which placed him among the top single shooters in the league, average has declined for five straight seasons ... .379, .350, .303, .283 and .271 ... Added 71 singles to give him 743 ... 7th place on all-time list ... Combined with Mike Lewis and Vito DiCesare to give team a 1-2-3 singles combo that helped propel them into the World Series during 2007 season.


DeGroat, Ken - Rec-King Crew

Superior double shooter with 97 in 2007 and 94 last year ... Ranks among the very best at his base ... Specializes in dart control, placing among the league's leaders with fewest off the boards ... Just 4 in '08 ... Has excellent emotional control ... What actor David Carradine would like if he threw darts ... Could make some extra cash doing Yellow Book commercials ... Has 479 two-baggers in just five years.


DiCesare, Chris - Bethlehem Shepherds

[Hall of Fame Member - 1998; Eight home run titles - 1998, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2006, 2008] Power Package ... League's all-time home run leader ... Set new league mark with 35 circuits last year, four in the final night ... 11-year total of 284 ... Uses underhand throw ... After his typical slow start, hit 20 homers the second half and led club with 74 RBI ... Became youngest HOF member in 1998 (age 33) ... Caretaker of the Hall of Fame ... Drove home 180 runners in two-year span (2002-2003) ... Once collected 7 RBI in one inning, with a 3-run shot and a grand slam HR against Marlboro.


DiCesare, Vito - Bethlehem Shepherds

[Hall of Fame Member - 1989] Key to Warriors mid-season turn around in 2007 World Series run ... Team became serious contender after his switch from the double to the single ... Raised his average 111 points to .315 and reached the 100 hit mark for first time since 1996 ... Upped the ante even further in 2008 with 129 singles, second in the league ... Both his father and his son are enshrined with him in the HOF ... Was longtime league treasurer ... Remains at number two on all-time HR list with 150 ... Started team in 1980 ... Team Captain for 23 years ... Can often be found, well after the games are over, surrounded by players as he tells his humorous stories.



DiDonato, Vinny - Meadow Hill Guards

[Hall of Fame Member - 1991; One triples title - 1997] The Printer ... Fluid, graceful thrower whose darts appear to glide to the board ... A top tier hitter for many years ... Team Captain ... Has led Guards in runs scored in four of last five years ... Had 46 last year ... A dangerous clutch hitter as well ... Number 15 on all-time doubles list with 693 ... Led club with 73 last season ... Led entire league in triples in 1997 ... As effective as he was twenty years ago.


Dougan, Jim - Rec-King Crew

[Not as] Big Jim ... Lost many pounds to better his health in 2008 ... Enjoyed fourth straight 100 double season in 2007 as the team's big gun ... Batted .370 with 122 doubles ... Third in the league ... Original member of team that has now appeared in three straight World Series ... Does not waiver off of target with 97% of hits in the deuce in 2007, and 88% in 2008 ... Has great sense of humor ... His 547 career doubles rank him no. 20 on All-Time list in short period of time.



Ernissee, Wayne - Bethlehem Warriors

Wayne's World ... His time had come ... A .398 hitter in 2007 who shot all four bases with great success ... Gone was the uncertainty of his 2006 performance, raised his average 128 points ... Selected by teammates as the Warriors' MVP after his strong performance during their World Series run ... Played only sparingly in 2008 hitting .333 for the Warriors.


Faricelli, Butch - St. Francis Flames

[One triples title - 1999] Typical Flames player ... Even tempered, polite and very effective at the line ... Has hit over .300 for ten consecutive seasons ... Hit .381 in 2005 with 87 doubles ... Same year his team won the World Series... Led league in three-base hits in 1999 when he collected an impressive 16 ... 9th on all-time list with 49 as season begins ... Very consistent year-in and year-out ... Batted a strong .331 with 91 doubles in 2008, tying his career best mark from 2001.



Flagler, Tom Jr. - St. Francis Flames

What might have been ... Magnificent hitter who has been limited to part-time play for several years ... Last full season was 2004 when he hit .373 with 91 doubles ... Hit .412 in 2003 ... Performances like that have him perched at number 8 on the all-time doubles list in spite of time away from game ... Known by many to be a very charitable person.


Flagler, Tom Sr. - St. Francis Flames

[Hall of Fame Member - 1991; One doubles title - 2008] Mr. President ... The cornerstone of the Flames since their inception ... Led the team ... and the league - in doubles (139) last season ... Collected 137 doubles in 2004, just two behind Frank Coleman for league lead that year ... Hit .450 then, .433 in 2008 ... Always seems to shoot well against Meadow Hill ... Did superb job running the Hall of Fame process for many years ... Teammates know he will emphasize - and exhibit - good fellowship as newly elected league president ... Ranks third on All-Time doubles list with 1,271.



Fred, Erik - Balmville-Lattingtown

Second nature ... Exciting young veteran who may be game's next great singles hitter ... Batted .446 in 2007, second best figure in league behind only Jim Ruggiero Jr. ... and .444 in 2008 ... Solidly-built athlete with a Jordon-esque haircut ... Returned to top form in 2006 after several years of part-time action ... Number 8 on all-time singles list with 729 ... 107 last year, fifth in the league ... Club's top umpire ... A big-time hockey fan who has hit the ice himself.



Fred, Karl - Balmville-Lattingtown

Balmville's Mr. Clutch ... Taking rightful place as one of game's top run producers ... Though doubles fell off from a career high of 101 in 2006, his total of 89 was strong and he was once again among RBI leaders with 61 ... Had 70 RBI in 2007 when only Dan Coleman, Chris DiCesare and Mark MacEntee had more ... Hit .354 ... Outstanding personality ... Looks a lot like an extra from an old John Wayne movie ... And a sharp-shooter to boot.


Garzione, Dave - Gardnertown Church

[Hall of Fame Member - 2002] Dangerous Dave ... Twilight of the Gods ... Definitely on downside of storied career as his eyesight and hearing continue to fade ... But continues to be regarded as one of most dangerous ninth-inning hitters in the game ... Only five players have hit more home runs than him the last eleven years ... Added 4 more last year, for a total of 114 ... Was Chris DiCesare's dartball hero as a teenager ... Last great year was 2002 when he hit 16 home runs ... Inducted into Hall of Fame that same year.


Gordon, Brian - Bethlehem Shepherds

At last, a double shooter to cherish ... No matter how hard they looked, Shepherds could not find themselves an up-and-coming doubles shooter ... But along came Gordon and for the last three seasons, the club has been totally satisfied ... Regarded as one of the better defensive players in the game as well with his Chuck Norris statements ... Finished with 85 two-baggers last year, second only to Alan Lewis ... Serves as web site photographer.


Gordon, Vinnie - Little Britain Grange

[Hall of Fame Member - 2008] The Tax Man ... Brings good return on investment ... A member of Little Britain team after almost two decades with Bethlehem ... Still has one of the sweetest darts in the game ... Has hit over 700 doubles since 1997 ... Is a steadying influence on any team with his even temperament... Best year was 2001 when he hit .409 with 73 doubles and 49 RBI ... Key player in team's World Series quest last year with 88 doubles and 84 RBI.



Gould, Bill - Little Britain Grange

Class on and off the line ... Outstanding big-game hitter and first-rate gentleman ... Resurfaced in 2007 with league's most successful team after playing for Bethlehem Church for well over a decade ... Top year was 2000 when he shot 64 doubles ... Added stability to team with calming presence and positive approach to game ... Limited to part-time play last season.



Griffin, Arnie Jr. - Gardnertown Church

[Hall of Fame Member - 2003] League Vice President ... Began playing darts alongside his father some 20-plus years ago with legendary Moose Lodge team ... Consistent singles shooter ... Posted a .365 average in 2006 ... Hit .368 last year ... Recent playing time limited by job constraints ... Collected 104 singles in 2003 ... Has never been afraid to speak his mind.



Henry, James - Bethlehem Church

Classy, intellectual player ... Shot a team-high .428 with 88 doubles ... Has collected 252 singles and 772 doubles since 1997 ... Known for his double pump motion ... Few are more skilled in the art of distraction, and has to rate near the top in the game in defensive capability ... Compiles the annual statistics for the league ... A professional educator ... Took his team to the World Series in 2008 ... Seems only a matter of time before the Hall of Fame calls.


Homan, John - Moulton Memorial Church

[Hall of Fame Member - 1990] Solid veteran, Hall of Famer and Team Captain ... Reversed decline at the line in recent years ... Raised average 48 points and added power to his repertoire with 19 homers in 2007 ... 14 round trippers in 2008 ... A 1990 Hall Of Fame inductee ... Has had a long and storied career ... Former Marine ... Always seems to hit well against Balmville team ... Sets a solid example for league's younger players.



Hunter, John - Bethlehem Church

Smooth shooter ... Looks like he should hit .400 ... Might someday if he plays a full season ... Has topped 200 at bats in a season just once in the last eleven years ... Collected 87 doubles that year ... Hit .362 in 2002 ... A long-time educator ... Reached the 400 double mark for his career last season, hitting .323.


Hyatt, Jack - Moulton Memorial Church

The Rev ... His value can't be measured by statistics alone ... Steady hitter who has taken the art of hosting the World Series banquet to a whole new level replete with live entertainment and a printed program ... Second on team in singles in 2007 ... Has conducted several beautiful and moving memorial services for former league players.
