The Balmville Grange team is one of the league's oldest, since World War II. Great players from Balmville's long history include Paul Faurie; Ed Paffendorf; Alonzo Stevens; Bill Siebert and Paul Scagnelli (still active team member). This storied team made the Balmville Grange their home for many years. Our last championship is about 60 years ago. Lonnie Stevens and Leroy Marshall preceded Rick Sicina, the current team captain. The team relocated to Lattingtown Hall in 2008, and as a nod of respect to history they retained 'Balmville' in our current team name: Balmville-Lattingtown.

Players:

Dean Scagnelli - A double shooter and big RBI producer with almost 35 years experience with the team. He is one of our leaders. Dean joined the team when his dad (Paul) was playing. Hall of Fame member.

Kevin Scagnelli - Dean's son started playing 4 years ago. He is our leadoff hitter, and continues the family's dartball legacy.

Leroy Marshall - A former Team Captain and Grange Master, he continues to enjoy the night of dartball. He has a dangerous HR dart, is an all-around nice person and a Hall of Fame member.

Karl Fred - Has been a dartball player since mid 1980's. A great guy and another double shooter and RBI machine. He is currently a next door neighbor to our new home at Lattingtown Hall.

Erik Fred - Karl's son, who has become our best average man. He is a valuable player who flexes between the single and the double, and hits in the 'two hole' in our lineup.

Tom Hare - Karl's working buddy from West Point. Another double shooter who produces RBI's. He enjoys the outdoors, is a great guy and our board builder.

Lonnie Stevens - Former captain. To my knowledge Lonnie has almost 40 years of experience in dartball. One of our flex shooters: Lonnie can hit the single, double or triple. The 'Snow Plow Guy' to many, and the 'meat slicer' at all Dartball dinners. Lonnnie is a member of the Hall of Fame.

Jay McManus - A double shooter who has three decades of dart experience. He makes good coffee and is one of the nicest guys around. Jay assists the team by driving Al and Phil to most games.

Al Timperio - Dean's uncle is also a long time member. He is a consistent single/double shooter. He is also an important guy in getting home games set up.

Phil Giarizzo - Possibly the oldest active member of dartball at 87! "The Scooter" because of his similar look to New York Yankees great Phil Rizzuto. Phil is a dangerous HR thrower for Balmville. He is also our electrician on the team. He has been a member of dartball for three decades and is a funny guy all around!

Rick Sicina - The current captain for Balmville. Started playing back in late 1970's. For most of his career he was strictly a singles shooter, now is more of a single/double threat. Loves the camraderie and fellowship of dartball and feels blessed with the great group of guys that make up the team. Still searching to end that championship drought! The 'stat' man for the team and a Hall of Fame member.

Paul Scagnelli - Still an active member of the team, though a bad shoulder has limited his playing time. Paul has been a major member of the Grange, and he began a strong dartball family legacy. He is the mechanic on our team. Now retired, we miss him at the games. However, the Florida weather (during our cold winters) sounds like a great idea! A member of the Good Fellowship Dartball Hall of Fame.
