The talk of Spring Training 2005 was Adam Hurd, a converted
Beacon High School tennis player who was making quite an impression in his first encounter with wiffleball. And when a prospect
is so widely acclaimed in Spring Training, it's usually just a short period of time before they become one of the league's
impact players.
Adam was named the Captain of the expansion 'team 6' renamed Evil Shenanigans
when the 2005 season began. He became the first player ever to be named team Captain never having played a regular season
game. That speaks volumes about the maturity and intelligence of this talented rookie.
The Shenanigans are confident that Adam will help lead them to the Playoffs in their
innaugural season, and Adam will do his best to continue to improve on a Spring Training that saw him post an .800 slugging
percentage.
